Welcome to the fuzzy set / Qualitative Comparative Analysis AMTP Users Group

The goal of this http://www.fuzzysetqca.com/ website is to serve as a repository for all matters of fuzzy set/ Qualitative Comparative Analysis research, and specifically to assist the AMTP participants in the development of a productive stream of research ultimately leading to publication in the JBR.

We the participants of this Blog were afforded the unique opportunity to learn from Dr. Arch Woodside of Boston College a new, cutting edge analytic technique called fs/QCA or fuzzy set/Qualitative Comparative Analysis at the AMTP 2011 Conference (Association of Marketing Theory and Practice) in Panama City Beach Florida from March 24th - March 26th, 2011.

As an outcome and extension of this workshop, Dr. Woodside has gracioulsy invited us to develop papers using fs/QCA for publicatrion in a forthcoming Special Issue of the JBR - Journal of Business Research of which he is the Editor.

Projects include a collaborative effort between Dr. Charles Richardson of Clark Atlanta University and Dr. Mark Lennon of Frostburg State University in the analysis of World Bank data from their report on "Doing Business" around the globe and identifying the antecedents and resultant impact on growth in national GDP's. Other projects underway include an examination of Road Rage and its contributory factors.

Many Thanks to Dr. Rick Mathisen and the AMTP

We the participants would like to thank Dr. Rick Mathisen, Program Chair of the AMTP 2011 (Association of Marketing Theory and Practice) Conference for facilitating an extraordinary meeting. Not only were we afforded the opportunity to learn from Dr. Arch Woodside, but also his esteemed colleague Dr. Joe Hair in an SEM Seminar.
While Dr. Arch Woodside and Dr. Joe Hair are icons in their fields, both men were extraordinarily generous with their time in explaining  their  respective research methodologies and passionate about assisting the professional development of all AMTP participants.
The Magic of AMTP is not a hyperbolic marketing slogan. For during this conference, ideas and scholarly inquiries were shared amongst both seasoned and emerging scholars, and great camaraderie and friendships were developed. These are already leading to the creation of collaborative research efforts which will contribute to the academy and the advancement of knowledge.

Dr. Arch Woodside Is Fantastic!

We the inaugural class of AMTP 2011 Fuzzy Set QCA Workshop would just like to thank Dr. Wooside for an extraordinary learning experience. His explanations, drawn from his clearly and concisely written text, were invaluable in learning this new, cutting edge research methodology.

We also want to thank him for his generosity in providing assistance in the development of a series of Fuzzy Set QCA based articles for a Special Issue in the JBR - Journal of Business Research - of which he is the editor.
